We ordered the special of the smothered steak, 3 of us did. The kids got a burger and chicken. It took a extremely long time to come out and when it got to our table all three of us found it cold and sent it back. It took a very long time to get it back out. Once we got it back out, two of the meals came out hot, mine was still cold. After complaining again they brought out a extra one for me, which is nice, I did eat my original one a mistake I highly regret. I was full and instead of taking it back home my son (six year old ate it).
A diner should be a plate lunch meal that competes price wise with the normal prices you find in the area. Neal's has always been one of the highest priced places to eat. If not for its legacy in Springdale, they wouldn't stay open in my opinion.
I originally wasn’t going to leave a review at all even though our experience left us not wanting to come back.
It's a Springdale legend and that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The meals are way over priced for what you get. Overall the food quality is decent but too many meals lack flavor. Their fried chicken needs salt to get the flavor you expect and the sides tend to be very bland.
Now I’m ill, my son just got done puking, and the other two who also are it are experiencing some discomfort as well. We are local and very not pleased, we will worn our friends and those that are visiting away from this place. Don’t ever eat here for fear of getting ill you have been warned.
Service is great, but the food sure lives up to the moniker "greasy spoon"! The sausage and egg omelet was a very thin wrap of eggs around a mass of sausage that must've been poured into the eggs along with all the grease it was fried in. There was a barely detectable amount of cheese and... nothing else! No onions, peppers, tomato or anything. The gravy that came with the biscuits had a sheen like a gasoline spill.
Prices have gone up. Our order took 45 minutes to get. Waiter only came back to our table to check once. Couldn't hear my wife talk to me because of the noise of folks talking. Food was good but less served than past when we came.
No flavor and had large seeds on fried squash. Rolled where hard. Other than that it was nice. The okra was great.
I can’t give this less than a star, the 1star it has is because the server was decent. I write this after having to nurse my 6 year old back to health from what I can only assume was food poisoning, hence the late review.
Pie good but high dollar. Noticed the crowd was 90 percent over 60 yrs old.
Maybe they are catering to their older customers, the regulars who eat there everyday who have to watch their salt intake. What I know is I always have to use the condiments when I eat there. Don't expect to get out of there for less than $15 a person unless you drink water and don't tip.
Cost almost 50.00 for 2 people.
